These three latest additions to the Real Madrid medical room have caused agony for the fans, and more importantly, the club. The most recent injury was that of Sergio Ramos. The Spanish defender fell awkwardly, causing a knee ligament tear during Spain’s World Cup qualifying match against Albania on Sunday. Not too long after the game, Spain confirmed a grade two tear of his medial collateral ligament. Unfortunately for Real Madrid, the gifted center back and captain is expected to miss about a month of action, which would have him set to miss four La Liga matches.
The Whites have also taken a dagger in their center midfield with the powerhouse duo of Luka Modric and Casemiro being placed on the injury list. Casemiro’s injury took place during their match against Espanyol on September 18th. The Brazilian took a blow to the Fibula causing it to fracture. The club is expecting him to miss the next one to two months, and his aggressive play will surely be missed. The Croatian superstar and maestro of Real Madrid, Luka Modric, is rumored to be missing a month of action after having to undergo surgery on his left knee. Manager Zinedine Zidane relies heavily on the creativity of Modric, however, he said he is confident that his substitutes will step up to fulfill the big shoes of Modric.
The medical team at the Bernabeu is sure to be busy during the next month. Everyone at the club will be going full throttle to bring back the three players for their important fixture against local rivals Atletico Madrid on November 20. The team is going to struggle without these three key players but I’m certain that the many other superstars at the club will do their jobs to make sure the club continues to bask in their winning form.
